What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy can improve quality of life, such as helping to overcome panic attacks, depression and anxiety by balancing the nervous system. The sessions involve working collaboratively devising a plan for daily practice consisting of asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation that is tailored to the individual’s needs. The sessions may also include relaxation techniques, Mindfulness, reflection and the promotion of behavioural changes. Yoga therapy can be practiced on a 1:1 basis or in a small group and is appropriate for a wide range of ages and lifestyles.

Client testimonial from the 8-week course on stress, anxiety and depression
Although nervous at first, I feel very glad that I took part in this course. The difference in me between the beginning and now is remarkable, especially with my reaction to emotional feelings. The variety of meditation, asanas, breathing techniques and mindset ensured my interest was kept right through the eight sessions.
