Practitioners & Teachers

Being an integrative therapist means Susanna draws on a range of modalities in her counselling practice. She is informed by attachment theory and family systems theory, which consider early life experiences and past and current family dynamics. She is also informed by neurobiological and developmental approaches which utilize cognitive behavioural therapy in order to better understand what is happening in our brain chemically and in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Her personal and professional experience with mindfulness allows her to bring presence, compassion, non-judgement and curiosity to each session.
She cares deeply about working with each individual in an adaptive and curious way, and is dedicated to bringing an anti-oppressive and culturally responsive stance to her therapy with those from diverse cultural backgrounds, the LGBTQI+ community, the neurodiverse and the differently abled.
Susanna is an accredited and experienced Circle of Security Parenting Program facilitator, and welcomes requests to run this structured course for individuals and groups. See the Circle of Security International website here for more information (https://www.circleofsecurityinternational.com/).
She has a particular interest in working with new parents, including those experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety or parenting challenges, and is able to accommodate and include babies under the age of 12 months in her rooms with consultation.
Susanna offers counselling sessions online, over the telephone, and face-to-face. She runs an in-person clinic at Miller’s Yard on Mondays, and does both short and long-term counselling. If you have financial or scheduling concerns about the sometimes open-ended nature of the therapeutic process, speak with Susanna about making a set-session counselling plan.
