Counselling
Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues or difficult feelings in a safe, confidential environment. It is a process that you may seek when you would like to address something in your life or simply explore your thoughts in more depth.
Common subjects addressed within counselling may include the following: addiction, grief, bullying, mental health, relationships, trauma, or exploring your gender identity.
Counselling does not come in a cookie-cutter format and each session is generally tailored per individual. The therapist will encourage you to talk about your thoughts and experiences in order to uncover any root causes and identify your specific ways of thinking. The counsellor may then look to create a plan of action to either help reconcile your issues or help you to find ways of coping.
